Feedback & Changing our video

Yesterday we received some feedback from Mr Smith regarding the protagonist of our music video, and his relationship with the audience.
We've come to the conclusion that our protagonist does not relate the our audience the way we were aiming for. We feel that our protagonist may come across as unnecessarily "annoying", which is definitely not what we're aiming for.
We decided that we need some kind of narrative to build up a relationship with the audience. We plan on having a new scene which will be focussed on building up the relationship between the audience and the protagonist.
The ideas of which we come up with included; Having a "tea-party"which will show why the protagonist is the way he is. We plan on using other minor characters which will act as a foil to reveal the reason of the protagonist's outbreak at the grave scenes.
I think that this should allow the audience to understand and relate to the character.
